- Former CEO of SEDCO Holding (22 years, started as an advisor to the CEO in 1991, as a Senior Vice President of the Direct Investment Group; then as Managing Director of the Financial Investment Group in 2006, leading the principal investment & the institutional investment programs in Public and private equity globally; and in 2010 became the CEO of SEDCO Holding, leading the transformation into a Holding company (hybrid investment governance model) with high governance culture, and later in 2013 as Advisor to the Chairman, until joining the CMA as a Commissioner.
- Former Dean of the Faculty of Economics & Administration (King Abdulaziz University- KAU); 26 years of academic leadership started as an associate professor of Finance in 1984, then as deputy director of the University Information Technology Center, then as a professor and a vice dean for research, then as Dean of the Faculty, then as a member in the University Advisory Council, Strategy Committee, and Scientific council, as well as in Ministry of Higher Education Committees.

Dr. Soufi occasionally teaches an Executive MBA course on Governance, Leadership, and Strategy as an Adjunct Professor, King Abdulaziz University;
He also contributes regularly to research (and developing the research agenda) on corporate governance and the financial and investment ecosystem, in cooperation with external parties (CMA, HARVARD, INSEAD, Harcourt IGN, other associations). He was also actively involved in several industrial, or government-level initiatives related to the corporate governance and financial system.
Adnan also led and organized various executive education programs from Harvard University, INSEAD, IMD, and London Business School to advance leadership, strategy, and governance at SEDCO Holding and other institutions.
